Every few weeks we break out the olde Rolodex and fish out the card of one of Houston’s finest. That unlucky chap is then served up a big loosing end of some of the dumber interview questions they will face over their entire recording career. This time around we’re talking to Dann Miller, usually of The Jonbenet, but on Friday frontman for Dannzig. Givitalisten:

Brains for dinner, brains for lunch, brains for breakfast, brains for brunch.

Do you like to cook, and if so, what is your favorite dish to make?
I love to cook, and my favorite dish to make is anything with YAAAAAAAms!

Which is most like a house of horrors: Fiesta, Food Town or Foodarama?
I shop exclusively at hot mom Kroger, so I don’t know about that.

Have you even been to one of those HAUNTED HOUSE thingeys? If so,which one and your review:
Quite a few at Fright Fest years and years ago. Don’t really remember. Fun fact: Jeoaf from the Monocles/Dannzig was an employee of Fright Fest, known as ‘the Blood guy’.

Do you read horror books or have a particularly favorite horror movie?
I love the Exorcist, both movie and book, but I stay away from all that…..horror business.

Which was the poorest execution of the best idea: Freedie vs Jason or Aliens vs Predator?
Never had the undoubtedly extreme pleasure of seeing either. I watch this daily though:

What are the records you’ve been jamming lately?
Besides the obvious that I must listen to for Halloween preparation, a lot of Birthday Party and Shangri-las.

Are there any local bands or happenings our beautiful readership should be taking more note of?
There are few things I know of that your fine interweb publication doesn’t already adequately cover. Gotta say everyone needs to check out Airon Paul Dugas though, my dear roommate and hetero-life-partner.<3

What do you have going on right now?
Welp, I usually play in the Jonbenét and we’re slowly recording our next full length which is sounding exquisite if I do say so myself, but I don’t give a shit about that right now cause I get to pretend to be Danzig on Friday. Oh, but Jonbenét will be playing in Austin November 8th at Red 7 and December 12th at Walter’s with Brian’s Johnson I believe.
