Aaaah vacation. It’s freaking great, but alas it must come to an end. No, it’s true, we’ve actually gotten rather sick of staying indoors in our private bungalo while we sit through so many unwanted guests rudely fromping about on our allegedly priave Bahamas beach. Ike was really the last strat, cantakerous little devil. So, we’re headed home now with a rather delicious tan but just as much malaise as ever. Hopefully, however, we can get of our asses once back in the office and put some pen to paper, though frankly nothing has been really that interesting lately. Sorry to offend.
One thing that did catch our eye as the Skyline Network Most Extreme Party Call Me Gulfstream fired up it’s WiFi was a show tonight combining our favorite radio program (KTRU’s The Local Show) with our favorite Show-Up-And-Play-A-Set-Anyway rapper, BLACKIE. He’ll be doing a free performance in the Rice Student Center tonight around eight, and the whole thing will be broadcast live on the radio. Epic, and exactly the opposite of KUHF, which nowadays seems to spend most of it’s time advertising programs on some sort of HD network that you would much rather be listening to. Faaahq. Even “24 hour news and information in Spanish” sounds better to our no hablo-ing asses than listening to another cringe-inducing ‘localization’ of “This I Believe.” Leave the amateur shit to KPFT folks, you’re supposed to be professionals.
Show starts at Eight, and is free. Party.
PS - You should tune in to KTRU an hour early and listen to the Post Punk Show. It’s rully good.
