LISTEN LISTEN SURVIVE DUST STORM!

Hahah. We love stories from tour. And seeing how there aren’t too many of Houston’s Beautifulest headed out for rubber on road adventures in ’08, we were glad to see that the fine men of Listen Listen bucked the trend and booked themselves a tour of this here beloved Lone Star State (not a bad idea considering the land of the Yellow Rose is about the size of France, and offers up a good number of places to play). They sent in this video, titled “Llano Estacado Whirlwind,” to summarize their experiences. COMMENCE METEOROLOGY
So the weather may be occasionally out to get them, but there were some kind words, on the other hand, from the folks at We Shot JR, a mighty fine place to go for insight about like minded music in Dallas and Denton. Think of them as our hot sister that you’ve never met – the one that went to TSU instead of sticking around and being a Coug. In other Listen Listen news, they’ve finished the recording of their follow up to last-year’s must own EP, which we surmise to be 1) Titled Hymns from Rhodesia 2) A captivating leap into new sounds with a heavy tether to where they’ve been, based on a few listens listens of “Safe Home at Port.” Check it out on their MySpace page. They expect this next batch of their Wintery take on Americana to be in the can in the next month, with a release hopefully later this year. Stoked.
Catch Listen Listen with Yndi Halda, Antarctica Starts Here and Wood & Felt at the Mink next Monday, August 11th.

mini tours are beautiful! sew what and i went out and about in june.. we didn’t encounter any freak storms but we did have some great times and good turnouts.. playing on a school bus in baton rouge, staying in a re-claimed home with holes in the floor looking down to the basement in 7th ward new orleans(amongst many still abandoned and condemned houses), an awesome house show in dallas with the angelus and dust congress, and an excellent pop fest in denton with matthew and the arrogant sea, RTB2, and many many others…
we should be doing another one in the coming months..
